Our Mission...To forget one's ancestors is to be a brook without a source, a tree without a root.

The Atascocita-Kingwood Genealogical Society (AKGS) mission is to instruct and provide educational opportunities for its members in genealogical research through careful analysis and documentation using quality genealogical standards.

To fulfill this mission, we hold informative monthly meetings to provide a forum for members to meet and get to know each other, to exchange information and to advance the study of family history.  We are but a reflection of those who have come before us.  To learn who they are, where they came from and what they accomplished, will help us to understand who we are and this is why AKGS exists.

Why join AKGS?

Our group is a source of friendship and strength as we pursue the adventure of connecting the past with the present and future.  The fellow members of our group have already solved problems that you may encounter and you will find we are very cooperative and helpful.  Our speakers provide information and suggest repositories that might hold the information you need to solve that "brick wall."

Join us on the second Sunday of each month at 3 pm (except June, July and August) at:

The Rosemont
6450 Kings Park Way
Humble, TX  77346

We look forward to meeting you!
